What is the difference between long run and short run CD Duplication?
The main difference between long-run and short-run CD duplication lies in the number of CDs produced.
Short-run CD duplication refers to producing a small number of CDs, typically up to a thousand copies. This method is more cost effective for smaller projects or when a limited number of CDs is needed. Additionally, short-run duplication is ideal when time constraints are at hand. Typically, short-run CD Duplication can be achieved in a matter of days compared with replication which takes weeks.
Long-run CD duplication involves producing a large quantity of CDs, usually over a thousand copies. This approach is more suitable for larger projects or when a significant number of CDs is required, typically known as replication. Replication is the process of the disc being molded with the data; this clear disc has a highly reflective coating and then a protective layer. This process from submission of the master can take several weeks before the product ships.
Blank Media Printing offers CD Duplication, which is very cost-effective, and the duplicated discs function in the same way as any other disc. We frequently copy over one thousand units for a single title as, typically, the client does not want to wait weeks for the replicated product.
The choice between long-run and short-run duplication depends on the specific needs, budget, and expected demand for the CDs.
